" 'Mushi-No- Ne' lies between the sound of jazz and break-beat. Its mechanical
sound is reminiscent of insects humming in the distance, calming the heart and
taking the listener on a transcendent journey."
- Nobuki Nishiyama(HEADZ/FADER)
The work follows the manner of jazz combined with the philosophy of hip-hop, as
heard in the work of 'Nobukazu Takemura' and 'Yoshihiro Hanno' , but 'Mushi-No-Ne'
also contains elements of pop resulting in an almost melancholy ambience. The
melody and rhythm just before the breakdown remids one of the works of 'WARP',
'KARAFUTO' with influences from some of 'Bjork's latest work.
No.9s' minimal veiw of the world, a view peculiar to him, is set to become the
neo-classical music of 2002 and is also 'Poetic Electronica'.
"Unlike my previous work 'Calm and Ecstatic', when creating 'Mushi-No-Ne', I paid
much more attention to the fine details of my work and also made more use of the
technology available to me during the production. 'Mushi-No-Ne' is to me a representation
of the minimal cosmos, we all create our own universe which is based on themes
of our own. Afterall, 'he who is in bell knows not what heaven is like'.
